Study Music with Me!
I enjoy seeing people engage with an instrument, and music in general. Enjoying music is not about how good you are at it. It's about enjoying the process, and having an interest in the sounds you can make.
Looking back on 30+ years in music, I've played in nearly any setting you can imagine. From this, I combine my knowledge, enthusiasm, and easy-going personality so you enjoy yourself as you learn music. Because if it's not fun, why do it?!
-
Cello (classical and/or non-classical)
-
Drumset - start off with good technique, and we'll learn beats from your favorite musical genres
-
Guitar - l'll be your guitar mentor, best suited for total beginners and intermediates
-
Electric bass - learn your favorite song,s and the fundamentals of solid bass lines and tone
-
Mandolin - start off with good technique, learn tunes, and scale patterns that will have you able to jam with nearly any song
-
Music production, recording, mixing, arranging - all of which I do here to create my backing tracks. If you're just getting started or struggling with these, I"m here to pave the road ahead
-
Theory - the basics of scales, harmonies, chords, note reading, and rhythms of different styles. Best for more experienced musicians who are looking for a "theory nerd" who is hip to the culture of playing music by ear with your friends. I'm a good theory mentor for people who play in bands.

"I can't recommend Ryan highly enough! As someone who started learning the cello as an adult, I was nervous about the process and the kind of teacher I would find, but Ryan makes it such an enjoyable experience. He is forever patient, encouraging, and tailors to my learning pace and style.
I'm so grateful to have found such a dedicated and talented cellist! Thank you Ryan!"
