Cello Music, Reimagined
With respect and love for well-crafted songs, Ryan creates cello cover songs in his studio using a variety of instruments. When finished, he removes the cello melody to perform it live.
In performance, you'll hear these original cover songs, but with the cello played live.
Some things can only come into the world through time, passion, and love. This collection of music began in 2018 as Cello for Weddings, and its appeal for weddings and many other settings was soon discovered.
Similar in energy level to a small band or mellow DJ, it's great for public or private events, small or big parties, museums, gatherings, weddings in any setting, and more. Easily enjoyed, while also easy to have conversations with your friends, family, or colleagues.
If you like hearing a very talented cellist playing a variety of music that anyone can enjoy for up to hours at a time, you are in for a treat with Albuquerque's Ryan Smith Cello Music!
"Ryan is as progressional as he is talented. Whether it's being a hired gun within a band setting or performing at a wedding, Ryan always shows up on time with a great attitude ready to make the best music possible. Highly recommend!!" -- Sage Cornelius, violinist, @ragewitsage
One musician. Full sound.
My vision is to LOVE playing along with my backing tracks, which is why I've invested a solid 10,000 hours into making all of them.
This is my take on a favorite from Taylor Swift. Love Story is coming soon, but for now, there are five on the Song List page!
It's important to me that every cover song is easy to recognize, and also sounds cool as its own piece of music. You can request any song.
This video went semi-viral on TikTok, which was quite an experience!
This song is an audience favorite in any kind of setting. This performance was dedicated to the memory of an amazing person and friend named Eric Campbell.
This unique piano arrangement I created gives this song a classical-esque new life.
A fun afternoon in Bernalillo improvising a solo at an open jam.
Thank you to the Village Guitarist in Cedar Crest, NM for featuring me on your channel. I recommend this local shop and the people who operate it.
From Thomas: "This is the man if you are looking for cello in any capacity. An amazing talent that made my new record shine like I never thought possible." You can hear more of my work with Thomas Hinds on his wonderful studio album, Barbwire Bouquet.
Performing "Cover Me Up" - one of my favorite songs from another one of my favorite songwriters (Jason Isbell) - on a patio in Old Town Albuquerque. Thank you to the City of Albuquerque for supporting the arts by organizing and sponsoring Old Town performances of all kinds!
I often mix in a nice classical piece or two before a wedding, depending on the setting & the overall vibe the couple is looking for.
